Working with Your Doctor
A primary care physician (such as a family doctor, internist or general practitioner) may be the first healthcare professional you contact after noticing signs of Dupuytrens disease. Your primary care physician may refer you to a physician who specializes in diagnosing and treating hand conditions. This specialist may be a hand surgeon, orthopaedic surgeon or plastic surgeon.
